ITSMF is organized as a series of largely autonomous national chapters, with an International body directing and enabling affairs at a global level.  Each chapter is a separate legal entity and enjoying a large degree of autonomy.

 

Who pays for the itSMF Cyprus Chapter?

The funding of the Chapter is solely depended on the memberships (the members will be benefited among others things, from free/discounted events) as well as sponsorships (the sponsoring companies' logo will appear on the itSMF web site as well as have the opportunity to sponsor or exhibit at events, sponsor specific meetings, provide speakers, or send marketing information to Chapter members.

 

Who are it’s members?

Members include IT organizations, software, and services companies augmented by advisory and review boards of industry leaders, analysts, and customers. Collectively, itSMF Cyprus represents those with a stake in IT service management.

What is the role of the Cyprus Chapter?

The creation of a Cyprus Chapter will be the fundamental step towards promoting Best Practise Service Management within the Cyprus IT industry and therefore be able to achieve the following:

to develop and promote industry best practice in service management

  • to promote professionalism within service management personnel
  • to provide a vehicle for helping members improve service performance
  • to provide members with a forum, in which to exchange information and share experiences with their peers on both sides of the industry
  • to liaise with other parties that share an interest in IT Service Management

     

What is the itSMF?

itSMF is a global organisation whose primary aim is the development and promotion of best practice in the field of IT Service Management, aiming to be the premier representative body for IT services management worldwide. It is an independent, not-for-profit movement, owned and principally run by its membership.

 

What is ITIL

The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is an industry best practice framework for IT Service Management that establishes best practice and a standard of IT service quality that customers should demand and providers should seek to supply. It was developed by the CCTA (now the OGC - Office of Government Commerce) in collaboration with subject experts, practitioners, consultants and trainers to help organizations improve the way they use IT.

 

What is Best Practice?

The Best Practice approach is a systematic, professional approach to the management of IT service provision. It is based upon the combined experience of industry experts and can provide IT services with:

  • a proven, quality approach to service delivery
  • increased productivity
  • increased customer satisfaction
  • minimised risk
  • reduced costs
  • improved communication between IT and the business (the customers of the IT services)

What are the qualifications for joining?

The itSMF Cyprus makes no judgments as to the qualification of its members.
